Decent tools, some minor quirks

I bought the Puzzle Book Studio a couple of months ago to help with my KDP business. The range of puzzle types it offers is really good, and the output quality for printable assets was consistently high. Delivery of the software keys was immediate, which was great. However, I did notice the interface for the Cryptogram Generator felt a little less intuitive than some of the other modules. It took me a bit longer to get the hang of it, and a more streamlined design there would be an improvement. Overall, it's a powerful tool for the price, and I'm happy with the commercial use rights, but there's always room for a little polish.

Good value for a bundle

how does Puzzle Maker Pro stack up against something like Tangent Templates? I'm trying to decide which one to get for KDP stuff.

Puzzle Maker Pro is way more powerful for actual puzzle generation, especially if you need specific types like Kakuro or Binairo. Tangent Templates is good for interiors but the puzzle generation itself is not as deep, imo.

PMP is better for creating the puzzles themselves, like actual unique content. Tangent Templates is more about getting your low-content book structured fast. Depends on what you're prioritizing, I guess.

Are the puzzles generated by this software actually unique? Like, if I make a bunch of Sudokus, will they all be different or will I get repeats?

From my experience with the Maze Maker, they're unique. The algorithm creates new ones each time, so you won't get identical puzzles.

I think they say on their site that the generation is pretty robust. I've churned out hundreds for KDP books and haven't noticed any duplicates, even with specific settings.

Totally, that's what it's for! You can use everything you create with their tools for commercial purposes, including KDP and Etsy. Just make sure you own the license for the modules you're using.

Yeah, their commercial use policy is pretty clear. You make it, you can sell it. I've got a bunch of printables on Etsy made with their software.
